ICD-10 compliance - 1 July 2005
As from 1 July 2005, it is compulsory for most healthcare service providers to include ICD-10 diagnosis codes on their accounts. Claims submitted by these providers to the medical scheme without ICD-10 codes on/after the treatment date may be rejected. PLEASE NOTE: The ICD-10 code must be at its appropriate third, fourth or fifth character level.
